31. Ternate and Tidore

These two twin islands are located to the west of Halmahera Island. Ternate and Tidore face each other and are formed by volcanoes rising from the Moluccas Sea. Therefore, there are two famous mountains on each of these islands. Mount Gamalama in Ternate and Mount Kiemtabu in Tidore.

Because it was formed from a mountain in the sea, the volcanic landscape also dominates these two islands. The coast of Ternate Island is dominated by sparkling black sand. You must visit beach tourism if you are on these two islands.

Familiar and frequently visited locations on these two islands including Tolire Lake and the Museum of the Sultan of Ternate. While on the islands of Ternate and Tidore, you can get around using motorbike taxis or some sort of motorcycle taxi.

32. Merauke

From Maluku, let's move further east. At the eastern tip of Indonesia is Merauke. This city is a global tourist attraction in Indonesia because it is the first city to get the rays of the rising sun.

Even though it is located at the eastern end, it does not mean that Merauke is very difficult to reach. Even after you arrive there, there are many facilities available ranging from banks, restaurants, markets, to airline agents.

Not far from Merauke, about 60 kilometers, there is the Wasur National Park which is often the main destination for tourists. 33. Wakatobi

Wakatobi is known as the home of beautiful sea views. The area of this national park reaches 1.4 million hectares, with 900 thousand hectares of which have various species of coral reefs.

Apart from coral reefs, in Wakatobi there are also atolls and barriers. If you like diving or diving, this location is perfect as a destination. There are around 50 dive sites scattered in Wakatobi.

The locations that must be visited in Wakatobi are of course the internationally famous dive spots. At these dive points, you can find 942 species of fish and 850 species of coral reefs. This number is far more than in the Caribbean and the Red Sea.

34. Belitung

Even though it has only been widely known since the Laskar Pelangi movie, actually Belitung has kept extraordinary tourist charms for a long time. This charm is further strengthened by the Belitung Geopark which is included in the UNESCO Global Geopark list on April 15, 2021.

Seeing the status of the geopark, it is certain that the natural scenery in Belitung is among the champions. You can enjoy various outdoor activities when you visit Belitung. Try visiting to the beach. And there are 17 geosites that can be explored.

Talking about tourism in Belitung, it's impossible to miss Belitung Geopark. You can find a variety of geological wealth ranging from rocks, minerals, to the tectonic and geological processes that form a beautiful landscape.

Apart from that, you can also visit Peramun Hill, a forest that is home to 149 species of plants. As well as Tanjung Kalayang Beach, a white sand beach which is only 40 minutes away from HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport.

35. Prambanan

Apart from Borobudur, Indonesia also has another famous temple, namely Prambanan. This Hindu temple is located in Klaten and is not only popular with domestic tourists, but also abroad.

Prambanan Temple itself was abandoned for hundreds of years before it was finally revitalized starting in 1733. A Dutchman named CA Lons found it that year and from then on the revitalization process was carried out. Prambanan has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1991.

There are three temples in the Prambanan complex. The largest represents Lord Shiva. While the other two smaller temples symbolize Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu.

36. Borneo

Kalimantan is the third largest island in the world, so it is only natural that this island is included in the list of Indonesian tourist objects that are worldwide. Kalimantan has a unique landscape and is different from other major islands in Indonesia so that it has its own uniqueness from its animals, landscapes, to the traditions of its people.

37. Simeuleu, Aceh

Aceh is not only famous for its Sabang. Other cities like Simeuleu also do visited because it has its own charm. There are many activities that can be done in Simeuleu. Simeuleu is close to the sea and there are beautiful small islands around it. Among them are Siumat Island and Mincau Island. You can take a motor boat for 1.5 hours to the two islands. There is also a hidden beach called Pasir Tinggi Beach which is excellent for surfing. Note: If you are going to the beach, dress modestly and cover up, not a bikini.

38. Malioboro

Who doesn't know Malioboro? This legendary road section in Yogyakarta is a mandatory destination for every tourist visiting the city for the first time. Even those who have been to Yogyakarta many times have returned to Malioboro.

The name Malioboro itself is taken from the name of the governor during the British colonial period between 1811-1816, Marlborough. Nowadays, this road is the main road that is often passed by during traditional ceremonial processions carried out by the Royal Family.

Many shops line Malioboro, and there is Beringharjo Market, making it a favorite shopping destination. 39. Natuna Island

Natuna Island, as well as nearby Anambas Island, are well known as world tourist attractions for their beautiful white sand and views of coral reefs. Its location is also near Indonesia's border with other countries, making this island have its own charm as a tourist destination.

The Natuna Islands as a whole have 270 small islands, which are grouped into three. Namely Laut Island, Central Natuna Island, and South Natuna Island. Ranai is the administrative center of the Natuna Islands and is on Natuna Besar Island.

There are several islands that are most popular as tourist destinations in the Natuna Islands. These include Sedanau Island, Natuna Besar Island, and Senua Island. Apart from that, there are beautiful beaches such as Tanjung Sebagul, Teluk Selahang, and Setengar Beach. You can find many turtles laying their eggs on several beaches throughout Natuna.

40. Sembilang National Park

The Sembilang National Park tourist attraction is located in South Sumatra. Originally, this national park was part of the Jambi Berbak National Park. Then it was separated into its own national park since March 19, 2003. The name Sembilang itself is taken from one of the types of fish that live there, the nine fish.

Administratively, this national park belongs to the Banyuasin region and is located on the Banyuasin Peninsula, South Sumatra. This peninsula is home to dozens of species of water birds. The texture of the soil is muddy and many species of invertebrates are found.

One of the locations in this national park is the Banyuasin Peninsula, where many bird species can be found, especially those living in habitats near fresh water. If you want to see migrating birds from Asia and Europe, you should visit between October and December.
